KIRON KHER

Born on June 14, 1955, the actress has her roots in theatre. Kiron Kher , the wife of Anupam Kher , actually, began her career as a television host before moving on to Hindi films. Her first film was a Punjabi one, Aasra Pyar Da, made in 1983. Then came her first major role in Shyam Benegal's Sardari Begum, where she played the main role of the singer. EARLY LIFE: Kirron Kher was born in Mumbai to Jatt Sikh parents, and brought up in Chandigarh, Punjab, where she did her schooling and later college from Panjab University, Chandigarh. At school she was an avid Badminton player along with her sister, Arjuna awardee Kanwal Thakar Singh, their mother Diljit Singh was also active in sports and dramatics in in her college days in pre-partition Punjab. Geeta Bali

Image via Wikipedia Born in a Mohyal family in 1930, Geeta Bali was a popular film actress from Bollywood industry. In 1955 Geeta Bali married Shammi Kapoor . Geeta Bali became a star in the 1950s. Geeta had also worked earlier with her future brother-in-law Raj Kapoor in Bawre Nain and with her future father-in-law Prithviraj Kapoor in Anand Math. Geeta Bali's films also include Baazi (1951) with Dev Anand , Ghayal with Sheikh Mukhtar, Baaz with Guru Dutt , Jaal , Albela with Bhagwan Dada . She received a Filmfare Nomination as Best Actress for Vachan (1955) and another nomination as Best Supporting Actress for Kavi (1955). After suffering from smallpox, Geeta Bali died on January 21, 1965.

Sulakshana Pandit

Sulakshana Pandit is an actress and playback singer. In 1975, Sulakshana Pandit won the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award for singing " Tu hi saagar hai tu hi kinara " in Sankalp (1975). She also received a Filmfare Nomination as Best Female Playback Award for rendering the classical "bandhi re kahe preet" in Sankoch (1976) but lost it to Hemlata. The actress has also worked with some famous stars like Jeetendra, Sanjeev Kumar , Shammi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan , Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna , Rishi Kapoor , Raj Babbar and Rakesh Roshan. Nargis Dutt

Nargis Dutt was born on June 1, 1929. Nargis who was considered as the greatest actress in the history of Hindi cinema made her screen debut as a child artist in Talash-E-Haq in 1935, but her career in acting began in 1942 with the film Tamanna. During her career one of her best-known roles was that of Radha in the Academy Award-nominated Mother India (1957), for which the actress won Best Actress trophies at the Filmfare Awards and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
