One of the most talented Bollywood actress of her time, Reena Roy was born on 7 January 1956. From 1972 to 1985, the actress has appeared in many Bollywood flicks. Reena Roy's career in films started with a non-starter, B. R. Ishara's Nai Duniya Naye Log with another newcomer Danny Denzonpa, but it was shelved temporarily.
Both of them were starred together in Zaroorat released in 1972, along with another newcomer Vijay Arora. Another break came after two years
for the actress. Reena Roy also made several films with actor Sunil Dutt. Reena Roy's appearance with actor Jeetendra in marital dramas like Badaltey Rishtey (1978) and Pyaasa Sawan (1982) set her career. The duo produced three of their greatest classics together - Apnapan (1977), Aasha (1980) and Arpan (1983) respectively. Reena Roy entered the 1980s as a leading heroine in demand, acting
with the stars like Vinod Khanna, Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra. Though professionally she competed with Rekha, off the screen they were good friends. Rekha helped Reena improve her costume sense and hair styles. Enacting the character of a tormented daughter-in-law in Sau Din Saas Ke (1980), she defies conventions to oppose her mother-in-law.
