Kalpana Iyer is a former Miss India, and Bollywood actress. The actress was well known as a famous vamp of the 1980's and 1990's. Having appeared in a number of Bollywood movies featuring dance sequences espcially item numbers, somewhat reduced her in appearance with a short interruption in Indian Television. The actress is currently a restaurateur based in Dubai, UAE.
After being first runner-up at Miss India in 1978, Kalpana Iyer started making full-blown appearances playing negative character in a number of Bollywod projects, continuing in the tradition of Bollywood actresses like the most gorgeous Bindu, the most sizzling actress Helen who have performed several item numbers and the fascinating Aruna Irani. Some of Kalpana Iyer’s famous dance sequences were to the songs "Hari om Hari" in Pyaara Dushman in 1980 and "Rambha Ho" in Armaan 1982 .

Kalpana Iyer was critically acclaimed for her performance as prison warden in Madhuri Dixit, Shahrukh Khan starrer Anjaam. Kalpana Iyer has also acted on television. She became a pop singer and performs in shows as well. Kalpana Iyer also featured in Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, Saif Ali Khan, Karishma Kapoor, Tabu starrer, Hum Saath Saath Hain.
